Mother's Day Special: Tribute to mothers #1 - for all the times they have put our happiness above their own and for always wanting what is best for us even when their world is not a bed of roses.
I want to share my story with other women out there who might be going through or have been through the same struggle as I have.
I'm a single mom with two kids. My eldest son is turning 3 and my little girl just turned 1. My husband and I separated when I delivered my baby girl. This eventually led to a divorce.
I'm not here to talk about why I got a divorce or bash my ex. Things happen for a reason and sometimes they spiral out òf our control. Instead of pondering over the past, I want to focus on today and going forward.
What I'm trying to do day by day is to create a safe and normal environment for my children. I've observed my children, especially my eldest son who is happier now. He is happy when his parents are not fighting. He is happy when he gets to see his dad on weekends. He is happy when I spend bedtime together reading books with him.
Of course its a constant struggle to create a balance, and as parents, we are learners along the way. But we strive our very best to make it work. And as adults, being petty when you have children is never an option.
So this is me, sending out prayers and love to fellow single mothers out there who are trying to make it work!
